Illustrated Campaign | CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) 2020-21

Stone Hollow Farmstead is a thriving local farm that hosts a CSA program. For those who aren’t familiar, CSA is where you essentially “buy in” before the growing season begins to help ease some of the burden on the farmers since they have to financially pour so much in long before a harvest is ready. CSA members are investing in their local agriculture which is amazing and powerful! We decided that we needed a direction for this campaign that could be used for not just one, but two CSA years.

PROCESS

After some experimenting I decided that this project needed to be done with acrylic gouache- it really made the colors true to life and fulfilled the project needs best. I then hand-painted 50+ different fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Edited minor flaws and cut out in photoshop so the individual PNGs could be moved around the page seamlessly.

THE WHEEL

Because this program follows the season- we knew early on that we wanted to develop all of these illustrations into a moving wheel.

THE POWER OF PRINT

The client and I decided that traditional print promotion would be good idea in addition to social graphics. Below are the examples of the 2020 Season Poster (Left) and the 2021 Season Poster (Right). We also did a postcard flyer and a fold-out mailer promotion.

WEB BUTTONS

Using the painted veggies- I made these web buttons to accompany the printed promotion material. I love how they break the borders every once in a while to add more dimension to an otherwise flat application.
